Paleoceanography
I reconstruct ocean conditions in the warmest waters on the planet - the Indo-Pacific Warm Pool (IPWP) - using geochemical proxies from sediment and foraminifera. I have used the following proxies in the past to investigate paleo-temperature, salinity, nutrient conditions, and more:
sedimentary stable nitrogen and carbon isotopes
foraminifera stable carbon and oxygen isotopes
foraminifera Mg/Ca
sedimentary 230Th
If you would like to collaborate on IPWP work or apply these (or related/emerging) proxies to available cores please reach out!
Globigerinoides ruber - a foraminifera that calcifies very near the surface in warm waters and can be used for sea surface temperature (SST) reconstructions.

Carbon Dioxide Removal
Within “CDR”, I currently systematically write about the relationship between this new career and scientific path and conduct intentional discussions about this with students and peers. Separately, I collaborate with nonprofits to build databases, frameworks, and literature reviews to advance gap analysis, environmental impact studies, standards development, and more. My expertise is in the following pathways:
Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW)
Ocean Alkalinity Enhancement (OAE)
Marine Biomass Carbon Removal and Storage (BiCRS)
Please reach out if you have a potential project in mind or would like to know more about my work.
